Drones
Drone Hand Drawn #1

This is my first hand drawn sketch of a drone, for this drone design I decided to go for the more basic drone look as I wanted to see how it would turn out, I used a reference image off of my Pinterest moodboard as I wanted to base it off of an image and then add my own touches to it to make it unique. I started off by sketching the main body of the drone and then adding a couple of its components floating next to it and one below it, this is to make it look better and seem more advanced. I then also added in the two propellers this is to help it fly and maneuver better in the air. I then also added the brand and logo on the main body and added in a couple of lines, these lines will be where some of the colours will go becuase the main colour of the drone will be a white/grey colour. After this I then shaded in one side of the drone and this is going to be the darker side so the colours on this side will be darker. Finally I added a camera to the top of he drone which can also be hidden by being pulled back inside the drone which allows it to look unsuspicious.
Drone Hand Drawn #2

This is the second hand drawn sketch of a drone I did, for this design I didn’t use a reference image as I wanted to try and create something totally unique and my own which I feel I did well. The main purpose of this drone is to roll around using the wheels on it’s base and help but it can also fly as I felt this would be a good feature to add. I started of by drawing the wheels and legs as these were the starting point for me as I wanted to start from the bottom and work up, I then added a body and a head and then added in all the small features. On the head I have aded another camera this is because the drone is a lookout drone and will be patrolling certain areas and the camera can look in a full 360 degree radius. After adding the camera to the top of the drone I then gave it one ominious eye to make it seem like a cyclops but it is also just one big camera which the drone will also use to see. Following this I then added a few floating components arounds it’s head these are just some little features that I felt looked good and I wanted to add them onto this design. Finally I added the brand name and logo onto the main body of the drone and then added in the propellers onto the arms, this is to allow the drone to get away if it comes under attack.
Drone Photoshop Sketch #1
In the first image we can see the start of my drone and how it all took shape. I started off by drawing the main circle for the drone and I did this slowly as I wanted it to look good so that it would be easier to trace over. I managed to get it done fairly easily and I then went on to add the camera at the top of the drone, this camera can look in all angles and I felt it looked good on my hand drawn piece. After adding the camera I then drew on the floating compartments next to and underneath the drone as I felt these were important because they were a part of the drone. After that I added on the branding and also the eye on the front of the drone, I placed this here as I wanted the drone to have a small camera attached to it and then a big one on the front of it. The good thing about the secuirty camera on the top is that it can retract into the drone and can be hidden.
In the second image we can see that I have gone back over the design and sharpened up the edges and made it look smoother, I did this as I needed it to look great for when I add in the colours and any other little details. I was able to do this easily as I reduced the opacity on the first lyaer down to 50%, this allows me to be able to get a clear view of the image but then also change it slightly so it can look better, I managed to round off the bottom a bit more which was handy as it is more circular now. I also angled two of the compartments at the top differently as I felt they weren’t angled enough before. After I had done this I was going to be adding the extra details which would require me to create an additional layer in case I made any mistakes. I got a dark grey and very lightly added some lines as I didn’t want to ruin the design but only improve it which I feel these lines did.
Drone Photoshop Sketch #2
This is my second Photshop sketch I created of my drone. In this design I started by creating a rough outline of the drone while using my hand drawn sketch as a reference, despite already creating the drone once creating it on Photoshop was harder due to the fact of getting the proportions correct. However I slowly started to create the drone, I started with legs first as I felt this was a good place to start and then created the wheels, after I had added the wheels in I then made the body however this went a little bit wrong but since it was the rough outline I wasn’t overly bothered as I knew I would be able to fix it in the next stage of creating. After sketching the body I then added the head but this also went a bit off and it’s mainly because the body was messed up however I knew what I wanted the design to look like so I persevered through this stage and just got on with it. Finally I added the branding to the center of the drone body along with some lines which would be used for colour to brighten it up.
In the second image we can see the main outline, I lowered the opacity on the first layer to 50% and then started going back over the design. I was able to fix the body and head mistakes that happened during the rough outline stage and that’s because I knew what I wanted the drone to look like. After fixing the head and the body I then added the propellors on to his arms as I had missed them out in the first layer but they weren’t overly important, I also then fixed the lines which would be used for colour as I felt they were a little bit off and weren’t exactly the same length. After this I then moved on to adding some extra details, these were really mainly for after I had added colour but I wanted to get them done first as I felt like they could improve the design without colour. I feel like this worked well and overall improved the design but I think when I next do it I shoudl try and maybe make a pattern out of them as I feel like that could really make the drone look a lot better.
Vending Machine Hand Drawn #1

This is my first rough sketch of a vending machine, for this sketch I used a reference image from Pinterest and sketched it in my sketchbook. I started off by sketching out the main outline of the image, this would then allow me to add more detail to the design, after looking at my design and the reference image I realized that my design doesn’t sit straight like the reference image. After I had sketched the main image I then went on to add more detail to the design, I followed the reference image for most of the design but I also added my own style to it to make it unique. I added a brand symbol on the side of the vending machine along with the company name, I also added the company name on the front of the vending machine as well, I did this as I wanted to make it look more realistic which I feel worked well.
Vending Machine Hand Drawn #2

This is my second rough sketch of a vending machine, for this design I also followed a reference image from Pinterest but this one worked out a lot better than the first one. I started off by doing the main outline and lightly sketching in the details, this would allow me to accurately draw in the main details after finishing off the outline. After the outline I added in the main details of my design, I started off by added the glass screen in first and then the control panel down the right hand side. After adding in the control panel I then had to add in the push panel at the bottom of the design which I felt was necessary as it would make the machine look complete. Following this I then added in the feet at the bottom of the vending machine and further added in the branding symbol and name on the control panel side as I felt this was a good place for it.
Vending Machine Photoshop Sketch #1

This is the start of my first vending machine design in Photoshop, since I had hand drawn a couple of images I also wanted to create some drawn images in Photoshop as I believe it shows that I am trying different art styles and is also more ideas generation which is always handy to have. I started off by collecting an image off of my Pinterest moodboard and then resized it to an appropriate size which would work with my page layout, this meant making sure it wasn’t too big or too small. After I had got the size that I wanted I then created a new layer called rough outline and sorted out my brush settings as these were very important to have correct otherwise my design wouldn’t look good. I started by turning the hardness up to 75% and the spacing down to 1%, I then changed the brush size to 20px which meant the brush wouldn’t look too big.
Following the brush settings I then started to create the rough outline of the vending machine, I used the image as a reference but also changed parts of it to make it unique and different. After creating the main outline I then started to roughly sketch out the main body of it and what the front of it would actually look like. I added in the glass screen and added shelving to it to make it seem more realistic, I then also added in the control panel on the right hand side complete with a coin slot, note slot, change pot, a little glass screen and the number panel so you can order. Finally I added in the push panel at the bottom of the design as this was very important and the design wouldn’t be complete without it.

In these two images we can see the progress that I made with the design and how I made it look even better, I started off by creating a new layer and also lowering the opacity on the first layer, this allows me to see everything I did in a light grey and then lets me use the black again to go over the design and make it look better. I started off by going around the entire outline and just making everything on the control panel stand out a little bit more by going over it and just touching it up a little to make it look better. After doing that I then created another layer which would be used for the branding, this then allowed me to added the brand name and logo onto the bottom of the vending machine in a place that I felt would be best for it however looking back I may need to move the push flap up a bit so the name is a bit clearer, I also added in the brand logo next to the push flap as I felt this was an appropriate place for the branding.
Vending Machine Photoshop Sketch #2

This is the second vending machine sketch that I produced on Photoshop, I started off by simply getting an image off of my Pinterest moodboard and then addfing it into my Photoshop document, I then labelled this layer as the reference image and created a new one called rough outline. After this I then set up my brush settings and started to sketch out the image, I started off by sketching the main outline of the vending machine which also includes the two feet. After sketching the main body I then started to roughly sketch out where the other parts of the design would fit in, so I added in the glass screen along with the buttons, the push flap at the bottom and the change slot.

After creating the rough outline I then created a new layer called outline where I planned to go back over the shape and sharpen it up so it looked better, I started off by first lowering the opacity on the rough outline to 50% this would allow me to be able to see the shape but also allow me to go over it without being as messy. I started off by going over the main outline of the vending machine and this was because I felt it was neccessary to go over this part first since it was the main part of the design.
After I had gone over the main body of the design I then went over the inside of the design, and this was to sharpen it up and overall make the design look a lot better which I feel I accomplished. I started off by firstly going over the main glass screen outline to make it look better and then I continued on and went over the push flap and this was to make it stand out more. After that I went over the change box and the smaller glass screen as they still needed to be added in however I left out the buttons as I had another plan in mind for them.
Current Position
- What did I do and why did I do it? This week I started off my ideas generation and I was going to create some hand drawn drone and vending machine sketches along with some photoshop sketches, this was because I wanted to see how different designs would look in different art styles. I also did two of each as it allowed me to get a better idea of what I would be creating in the long run.
- What did I find difficult or easy? I found creating the photoshop sketches easier then the hand drawn and this is because I feel that using a drawing tablet makes life a little bit easier when it comes to drawing however nothing was incredibly difficult.
- What tasks didn’t I complete from this week? I managed to complete all of my tasks for this week.
- How do I plan to catch up? I will not need to catch up due to the fact that I completed all of my work in the time required.
- Do I need to change anything about my work or planning? I believe I need to be able to focus more at home as I find it easy to get distracted however I do get on with the work and get it completed on time.

Billboards
Billboard Hand Drawn #1

This is my first billboard design that I created, for this design I focused on creating a realistic design that would advertise the products that the company is making. I started off by creating the outline which was a box and then adding a second box on the inside which would be the main advertising area, this was because I wanted the billboard to have a border as I felt this was a good design idea. To help me with the top of the billboard I was using a reference image off of one of my Pinterest moodboards as it looked good and I wanted to incorporate it into my design. This would then make the billboard seem as it it was attached to a building or a wall and make it seem secure. After I added that part of the design I then added my vending machine to the main part of the design and also the brand name and symbol, I added the vending machine because that was a product of the company and I wanted to show it off and I added the brand name and symbol so it would seem even more realistic.
Billboard Hand Drawn #2

This is my second billboard hand drawn sketch that I created, I used a different outline design for this one which was mainly the bolts in the top corner, I only did this as I couldn’t really figure out what I wanted the outline to look like. I started off by drawing the main outline with the bolts and then moving inwards and drawing the second outline on the inside which would then allow me to create the rest of the design. After drawing these two outlines I then shaded in the space between them as I wanted it to be clear that this was a border. Following on from this I then added the brand name and logo before adding in the final part of the design. Finally I sketched out a drone idea which I had made in the middle of the billboard and this was to make the billboard stand out and actually be advertising something. I believe that the billboard could potentially be made better with some writing but I also don’t want to make the design look bad so I’m gonna have a look into it and play about with it some more to see if I can make it look good.
Billboard Photoshop Sketch #1
In these first few images we can see the creation of my first billboard come to life from the very start. I started off by creating a few layers in a brand new Photoshop document and this was to allow me to switch between them with ease and also have them labelled so I knew what one to draw on for which part of the design. I made a rough outline layer and an outline layer to start with as these were the two important ones. After setting up my layers I then set up my brush settings and then started creating my first photoshop sketch. I was using my hand drawn sketch as a reference image so it wasn’t too hard to copy since I had already made it once. I started off by sketching out the main outline along with the railing at the top as this would help with creating the main billboard design, following this I then added in a secondary outline which was placed inside the design and made a bit smaller as to make it look right. I then added in the branding and finally re-made the vending machine which was placed just to right hand side of the middle of the design.
In the second picture I went back over the design but I also reduced the opacity of the first layer down as this would make it easier for me to go back over it. I made use of all the tools at my disposal and used the shift key to help me make the lines straighter which I feel improved the design a lot as it makes it look so much neater and smooth. I onyl did this for the main outline and the box inside as I wanted the vending machine to still be drawn properly and without the use of the shift key. In the third image we can see that I have now added a colour in the space between the main outline and the box inside and this was to show off that the space is a border, I feel this worked well and also looks good which improves the overall design. I did this by using the polygonal lasso tool and first going around the main outline and ensuring it was covering just enough to get the inside of the design, I then hit the alt key and then did the same on the inside box and after getting them both correct got the paint bucket tool and coloured it in.

In this image we can see I have now added a nice blue background to the main body of the design and this was to make it stand out and look a lot better which I feel this accomplished, I used this colour blue as I felt it wasn’t too bright nor too dull and sets the mood of the design right. I did this by creating a new layer and then using the paint bucket tool which allowed me to colour in a certain area of the design. By doing this and using this colour I feel the design looks a lot better and is also improved.
Billboard Photoshop Sketch #2
In the first image we can see the start of my next billboard design, once again I was using my own hand drawn picture as the reference image and had set up my layers and brushes beforehand. I started off by creating the main outline first and then adding the bolts into each of the corners, I added the bolts as I wanted to make the billboard look good and also make it seem as if it was secure. Following this I then added in the box on the inside which is where I would place the main asset of my design, I then added in the branding which was the name and logo of the company before adding in the drone which I feel looks good on this design.
In the second image I have gone back over the design by lowering the opacity on the rough outline layer and then going back to my outline layer. I used the shift key again to make the lines look straighter and thats only because I feel it makes the main outline of the design look so much smoother and better. After using the shift key for the main outline and the box on the inside I then went back over the branding and back over the drone to ensure it was all correctly outlined. Following this I then went onto the third image and this is where I made use of the polygonal lasso tool again and once again went over the same areas as I did before in the first design. I then chose a lighter grey colour as I wanted it to look different and also felt a lighter colour was needed as it would change up the look of the design.

In this image we can see the billboard design that I created but I have added a light green colour to it as I wanted it to seem bright and cheerful however looking back at it now this colour doesn’t really work with the design and I probably won’t be using it again as it just doesn’t look good, however I did test it out and I felt it looked good at the time but now I feel it isn’t right.
Factory Hand Drawn #1

In this image we can see the first hand drawn sketch I did of a factory design, I started off by firstlky creating the outline of the whole building and then slowly building it up from there. After creating the main outline I added in all of the lines whcih would split the design up and make it seem like different parts of the building. I then added in some lines which I then shaded in, these are gonna be made to look like toxic waste when I make the final design as I wanted to make them look good. After adding in the toxic waste pipes I then added in some windows on the top left hand side and then some railings at the very top. I have also added in a security camera on the left hand side of the design and a lamp post on the right hand side as I felt these were needed. Following this I then added in the two garage doors on the left hand side and these are used to deploy the drones I’m making. Finally I added in the doors on the left hand side along with the branding, and then the two chimneys at the top.
Factory Hand Drawn #2

Here is my second factory design, In this design I simplified it down a bit as I felt the other one was really good but also a bit congested so I removed a few items and in my opinion made this better version. I started off by sketching the main outline of the building and then added in all of the lines which would seperate the building up into different areas. Following this I then added in the doors in the bottom left and also added the branding in as well as I felt it was an appropriate place to have it. I then added a security camera and lamp post again as I felt they made the design look better and will also give me the chance to use some different colours on the colour design. After this I then added the toxic waste pipes again as these are an integral part of my design and can not be missed out, I also added in the two fans on the left hand side of the design as well as the chimney on the top, I reduced it down to one as I felt only one was neccessary but this can always be bumped back up to two as I have left enough room for it. Finally I added in the windows on the top right hand side along with a railing next to it, I also added in two garage doors at the bottom of my design, one of them is bigger and that’s becuase one of my drones is smaller and can fly and can use the little door while my other drone will have to use the big door.
Factory Photoshop Sketch #1
In this set of images we can see the process of how I went from my rough outline all the way to the finished product, without the colour. I used my own hand drawn sketch of a factory as the reference image as it’s unique. I started off by using the rough outline layer and slowly started to draw the main outline of the building, this was neccessary so I could then start to fill it all in, after doing the main outline of the building I then started to add in some of the extra parts of the design. I started by adding all of the lines inside to split the building up into different sectors and then I added in the two garage doors in the bottom left corner. After that I then added in the fans in the top left and the windows just below them, I also added some railings along the top as that is a lookout post. I then added the two chimneys and the toxic waste pipes, these were essential as I wanted to show the toxic waste that my factory was using. Finally I added the doors and branding in the bottom right as well as the security camera next to the fans and a lamp right next to the chimneys.
In the second image we can see that I’ve gone over the design to sharpen it up and make it look a lot better. I needed to do this as the rough design was quite bad and I wanted it to look good. I started off by using the shift key along with my drawing tablet as this would allow me to draw straight lines and therefore improve the main lines of the building. By making the lines straight it improves the overall look of the design a lot as it’s now a lot smoother, I then started to redraw in the toxic waste pipes and branding as these were a couple of the items that I wasn’t able to use the shift key on due to the fact that they aren’t straight lines. Finally I went on to add the extra details on to the factory, this was mainly labelling each area of the building as I felt this would be a nice addition to the design. I then also added some light grey lines to the factory as I felt it would improve it and would also look better than just having a bland building.
Factory Photoshop Sketch #2
This is my second Factory Photoshop sketch that I produced. I was using my own hand drawn sketch as a reference image for this design as I liked my second hand drawn sketch as well and wanted to bring it to life by using photoshop. I started off by creating a rough outline layer and then got to work on creating the main outline of the building, this was the easiest way that I saw to do it as by creating the main building outline first it would then allow me to add all the extra lines in after. After I had sketched the outline of the main building I then started to add in some of the assets, I added the windows in the top right along with a railing just to the left of it and also the chimney on the top left hand side, these were easy as they were all on the top and I thought it would be better to get them out of the way first since they are the only assets for the factory that are on the outside apart from the camera and lamp. Following on from this I then started to add in the multiple sectors again and also the two garages, this time I split them up and made one smaller and in the air as it will be used for the small circular drone that can fly. I then added in the two toxic waste pipes as these were an important part of the design and I really like the look of them, as well as the toxic pipes I added in the two fans in the upper left hand corner as well as I like their positioning and feel they should be kept.
After the rough outline I then reduced the opacity and created my next layer which would help me layout the design even kmore and make it look a lot sharper and smoother. I was also using the shift key for this part of the design as I wanted to make sure that all of the lines for the main outline of the building were straight. I feel that also by making the lines straight it helps out when trying to add in all of the other assets and they can be sketched in more easily. After I had gone back over the design I then had to add in all of the extra details, this required a new layer in case I made any mistakes. I started off by naming the sectors and creating a waste zone, I then also started creating unique designs for the sections on the buildings, these will be have proper patterns when I come to do this in the final product as I will need it to look amazing.
Current Position
- What did I do and why did I do it? In this week I focused on my last two assets which were my two biggest ones, the billboard and the factory. These were the main two assets that I was working on this week and I made a couple of designs of each of them, both hand drawn and also made in photoshop as I felt this would clearly explain how I wanted them to look.
- What did I find difficult or easy? I found creating the billboards on photoshop difficult at some stages as I did mess up a few times which required me to undo a few steps to rectify these changes.
- What tasks didn’t I complete from this week? I managed to complete all the tasks that I had set out to do for this week.
- How do I plan to catch up? I will not need to catch up.
- Do I need to change anything about my work or planning? I need to focus and apply myself more and stop getting distracted so easily.

Vending Machine Colour #1

In this image we can see my final Vending Machine product in colour, I used the colour red for two reasons, the first reason is because the reference image I was using was using red but the second reason and the more important reason is because I wanted to have 2 different coloured Vending Machines, one red and one blue. I feel that this colour works with the design well however if I use this design in my final product I will need to sharpen up the sides to make it look really smooth, I would also try and use a different shade of red, one that is slightly darker as I feel that would look better and would probably help make the pink line stand out a bit more. Overall I like this design and the colour of it and I will probably use it in my final product as I feel it is the best one, I will also be making two of these designs but I will be making a red and a blue one this way I can still have one of each colour like I wanted to have at the beginning.
Vending Machine Colour #2

In this image we can see my other finished Vending Machine, for this one I used a different reference image which showed a different design, I followed some of that design and then added some of my own features to it to make it unique. When I added the circles I decided to use the vector tool as it’s a great way to add shapes on to the design and also makes it look really good at the same time. Looking back at this design now it looks good but I could have improved it a bit more by trying to fill in some more of the space on the left hand side and also adding in the branding which I forgot to do, however the colour would also need to be brightened up as it is a bit too dark and I feel it wouldn’t look as good. I won’t be taking this design through as I feel like it would require too much time to fix.
Drone Colour #1
In these images we can see the finished product of my first drone design. In the first image we can see my drone design in full colour without the extra detail, I went for a nice light grey colour as I felt this would look good and after applying the colour I felt it looked great. I also got a darker grey to fill in both of the security cameras as I wanted this colour to be slightly different and it would work better when I added in the red dots to make it seem as if they were on. I then got a nice medium colour blue and coloured in the three lines which would brighten up the design a lot more and would also work well with the grey colour I had previously used on the main body of the drone. Finally I got a light blue and coloured in the side panel, I didn’t want this to be too dark or light but after trying a couple of variations I decided that the light colour was the best as it helped to make the other colours stand out, I then got a nice dark red and coloured in the brand logo. In the second image we can see the coloured drone with the extra details added on, I feel that the extra details make the design look a lot better and also add character to it. I feel that one thing I could do to improve this design would be to remove the outline and then blend the colours together by finding a colour thats inbetween, this would then allow the design to look flawless and would look a lot better. I prefer this design to my other design however I will be taking them both through to my final product as I need two different drone designs and I feel that they will both look good when I convert them to vector designs.
Drone Colour #2
In these two images we can see the finsihed product of my drone with and without the extra detail. I started off by selecting a grey/blue colour that I felt looked good and I tested it out first and felt it looked fine so I went ahead and started to colour in the drone, I was only colouring certain bits of the drone in this grey/blue colour since I would need to add other colours to it and I didn’t want it to look too dull and dark. After I had painted in the majority of the grey/blue parts of the drone I then grabbed a brown and coloured in the wheels, this was to make it seem as if they were dirty or rusty, I feel like this worked well however I could maybe add a bit of grey to it next time to make it seem likes it’s worn down. Next up I added some light blue to the colour lines that rand along the middle of the drone, I feel that this colour really helped to brighten up the design and works really well with the other colours used as it stands out.
After adding in the blue I then got a nice green and applied that to the last two colour lines that were left, I didn’t want this green to be too dark or light as I knew if it was it wouldn’t work with the design. Finally I got a yellow for the main body, this was to brighten up the design a bit more as I felt like it was still a bit too dark but after adding this was a bit brighter, I also then added the red lights to the security camera and his eye as I wanted it to seem evil, after this I got a darker shade of the grey/blue colour from earlier and added it to his arms and the rotor blades for his propellors as I felt like they should be a darker colour. After all this was done I then re-applied the extra detail layer and I can say I am pleased with this design however my first drone design is still my favourite as I feel it looks better.
Billboard Colour #1

In this image we get to see my first finished billboard design, I used a nice bright red for the vending machine and for the brand logo and this was to brighten the image up a little bit as I felt the grey border and the blue background were making it seem a little bit too dark. To fix this design I would need to make the grey a little bit lighter and also reduce the darkness of the blue, this would then make the design look better and a bit more colourful. I don’t like this design as much as my other design and will therefore not be taking it through to my final product stage.
Billboard Colour #2

In this image we can see my second billboard design that I created. In this design I got a nice lgith grey and coloured in the drone, following this I then got a light blue and added that on to the stripes on the drone as it would brighten up not only the drone but the entire design. I feel that all of these colours work well together however I am having second thoughts about the green background as I feel it isn’t going to look as good when I make it in a vector design. I will probably change the background colour to a light blue, this way it won’t conflict with any existing colours and should blend in well with the drone colours and help make the drone stand out a bit more. I like this design the most and will be taking it through to my final product stage, this is because I feel the colours work a lot beter together on this design and it just looks better in general.
Factory Colour #1
In these images we can see the finished factory design that I have made, I tried to use a nice dark grey as I wanted the factory to look really ominous since it’s a big corporation. I also decided to use some dark green/yellow colour for some of the toxic waste as I thought it would be a nice colour to use since most toxic waste is normally green. I got a nice light blue for the windows and the doors of the building and that’s becuase I wanted to use some brighter colours to liven the scene up a bit, however if I was to change them I could simply use some brown/grey and go over them a little bit to make them seem dirty and old.
I then got a light grey and added this to the garage doors and the fans as I felt like it would be a nice colour and would actually work well and I was also thinking that it should be a lighter colour anyway as I don’t want the colours to clash too much. I then got the light grey and put a few strokes of it over the chimneys as I feel it gives them a nice little design and makes the scene look a bit better. Finally I re-applied the extra detail layer and I got to see the whole product overall and I can say I am quite pleased with how it turned out. Overall I like this design as I feel it is quite complex and will therefore be a bit of challenge when I come to make it for my final product which will be fun, however there are some areas of the design that I don’t like so much along with some of the colours so I will be looking at my other design and taking parts of that to add to this design to make it really good.
Factory Colour #2
In these images we can see the finsihed Factory product that I have created. After I had gone back over the outlines and made the extra details I hid the extra details layer so that way I could colour the structure in first as this would look better to have it coloured first and then add in the extra details. I chose to go for a medium tone grey for this building as I felt it needed to be a bit lighter than the first factory I made. I got the grey and added it to the majority of the building and then I got a lighter grey for certain parts like the garages and also the fans. After that I then got a greyish blue colour and used that for the two garages as well as I really liked the look of the colour and I felt it worked really well with the design. Following on from this I got a lgiht blue and added that to the windows and doors as I felt they needed to be light to make the scene look a little bit brighter. Finally I got a dark green and a lime green for the two toxic pipes as I felt these colours would work really well together and they also looked nice when I was choosing them, I also got the bright red for the branding as this was very important to have. Overall I like this design but it is much simpler than the first one so I won’t be using this in my final product however I will be using some aspects of this design and incorporating them into the other design to make it look really good.
Current Position
- What did I do and why did I do it? This week I focused solely on the colour designs of my ideas as I felt this was neccessary and was an important part of my ideas generation, I also did this as a way to see what my designs would look like with different colours as I needed to assess this and see if anything needed to be changed.
- What did I find difficult or easy? Nothing was exactly difficult this week as it was all pretty much straightforward colouring.
- What tasks didn’t I complete from this week? I was going to include some vector images but ran out of time this week so I will be inlcuding them in my next step of the development log which will be fine.
- How do I plan to catch up? I will spend an extra hour a day catching up on the designs that I didn’t complete.
- Do I need to change anything about my work or planning? I need to stop getting distracted so easily.
