In this first video that I found on YouTube it takes you through a step-by-step guide on how to accurately and correctly create neon glowing lines around objects in your scene. I believe that this video will be very useful for me as I will be using neon colours for my factory and for some of the assets and will therefore need to create some of these effects that are shown in the video. As well as these glowing outlines I will also need to find another video depicting how to properly create just regular glowing lines so that I will be able to create some toxic liquid.
In this video that I managed to find on YouTube it takes you through one of the methods which you can use to create glowing lines for your designs. I will be able to use this video as it will be very helpful for me as I will use it for when I make the toxic liquid for my pipes that will be on the outside of the factory, I may also create some other areas of toxic waste in which case I will be able to use the video a few times in order to get everything correct.
After finding the first two videos on YouTube about glowing lines and effects I wanted to find a third video which also shows how to add a cyberpunk effect to my work. By using this guide I should be able to properly add all the effects needed for my design that will allow me to present it in a professional way which also shows how I stayed within the theme of the project.
Moodboards
This is my first moodboard that I made solely focused towards my final product, in this moodboard I found various pictures depicting multiple factories both of cyberpunk and some that aren’t, I also found a concept art piece that looked good so I included that as well. I will use this moodboard to help me start my rough ideas stage as I will start off by sketching some designs first. I wanted to find more pictures with an external view of the factory since that is how my final product is going to be presented, since I couldn’t find a whole load of these I then went on to google images and found a few pictures showing off what I believe to be more cyberpunk looking factories and I will use these to my advantage and use them to give me some ideas on how I should create my factory. Another factor that I was looking at while deciding on the factories that I added to the moodboard was the colour schemes as I wanted a few different ones, some were neon coloured and some were quite dull and grey, but this is what I was expecting and what I managed to find, by having all of this I will be using this as references for my rough designs to give me more ideas on what colours to use.
In this moodboard I gathered a load of pictures showcasing various types of drones as they will an important asset for my project and I will be creating 2-3 of them for my final design. I wanted to find pictures of different types of drones as this gives me more ideas on what they look like and how different they really can be, by doing this I am furthering my ideas generation as I will be able to use them to help me create my perfect drone, this will be done by taking parts of different drones and combining them into one drone. I will probably create 1 type of drone for my final project but I could add different colours to each one as to give each one their own unique variation. The main colour I noticed for drones was either White/Grey or Dark Blue, by looking at this information I will be able to use this to my advantage and help it guide me when I create my drones as I will most likely be using dark blue but I will be able to see how dark to make it and also if I should any other colours to it to make it look nicer.
For this moodboard I gathered a lot of pictures depicting various neon coloured signs and billboards and this is because I will be creating a few different billboards & signs for my design as they will each be showing different products that my factory is producing. The reason I got so many different pictures is because they all show different types of signs and I will be able to utilize this and use it to my advantage by using these as references to create my billboard but changing them to give them my own unique style. Also I will be looking at the colour schemes used in each picture and on each sign as this will also help me out as I can use variants of these colours to make my designs look better.
For my final moodboard I collected various images of different designs for vending machines, I found pictures of concept designs and also very detailed vending machines. By collecting all of these images it means I will have more reference pictures when I start to create my rough ideas and final designs as I will be able to look at these designs and use parts of them to create my own unique vending machines. I also managed to find a lot of different coloured vending machines along with a few showing off the colours that I would like to use for my design, I will try and create a blue and red vending machine and I managed to find some designs that utilized these colours as well as some designs that featured neon colours which is handy as it can show me where exactly the neon colour needs to be placed.
